Carol Whiteman


A two-time Governor General's Award-nominee and screen industry award-winner for promoting women's equality in Canada, Dr. Carol Whiteman is a co-creator of the internationally respected Women In the Director's Chair (WIDC) program. Through WIDC she has produced over 150 short films and through the WIDC Feature Film Award she is executive producer on nine feature films.

A member of UBCP-ACTRA, CAEA, ACCT and WIFT chapters across Canada, Dr. Whiteman is a seasoned workshop facilitator, moderator, mentor and coach. In 2019, she earned her doctors degree in transformational change in the faculty of education at SFU.
