Shea E. Butler


Shea E. Butler is an award-winning filmmaker for her screenplays, her short films (“The Trial of Ben Barry,” “The Waystation,” & “Finding Home”) and the web series, “Trouble Creek.” Shea’s an alumna of Ryan Murphy’s Half Foundation Directing Fellowship and the Warner Bros. Television Director’s Workshop and has a passion for storytelling. She recently completed writing the coming of age, indie feature script, “Dare,” which she plans to direct and is a published author. Her short story, “Giving Up The Ghost,” is the featured cover story in the 2019 November issue of Mystery Weekly Magazine and her short story, “Do Not Go Gently,” will be published in the upcoming 2020 Black Veins Anthology. She has been a development executive, a segment producer for reality TV and a script supervisor for television and film with an MA in TV & Film. She’s a member of the Writers Guild, IATSE 871, Alliance of Women Directors and the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences, Sisters In Crime, Mystery Writers of America and Women In Media. Shea divides her time between Vancouver, B.C. and Los Angeles, California. Born in Cairo, Egypt to American parents living abroad, Shea is a certified scuba diver and avid horsewoman. She was on a polo team that won a U.S. National 5 Goal Arena Polo Championship. Shea combined her passion of traveling with her passion for horses in a horseback riding safari through the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Nothing like being charged by a pair of lions to get the creative juices flowing!
