Darianne Downey


Darianne Nicole Downey was born in Surrey, British Columbia to Dean Downey and Carolynne Heessels. Spending most of her childhood making up stories and playing them out with friends and family, Darianne continued her love for writing in High School with her play “It’s Been A While, but I Still Feel the Same,” using this as proof of concept for her application to Vancouver Film School she was accepted and wrote her short film “Family Dinner” which one the “I bet you think this short is about you award” at VFS. During her time at VFS she met writing partner and real life best friend Emilee Juliette. The two started their very own production company: DEM Productions, where they are working on a webseries and produced the short “Encircled.”
