I started working as a Locations PA in 1998,then moved into Set Dec a year later. I moved to Saltspring Island in 2001 where I worked for an IMAX producer as an office/production assistant. It was while working for that producer that I got the writing bug. In 2005 I bought a cafe and decided to embark on being an entrepreneur, but I didn't stop writing. In 2017 I wanted to return to working in film while embarking on my dream of becoming a successful screenwriter. I have worked on 3 productions since returning to Victoria. I also wrote a short script which I entered into CineVic's short script competition called Cinespark. I was short-listed and pitched my story to an audience and three judges at The Short Circuit Film Festival in Victoria on May 5th 2018. I won the competition and was able get my film in the can as of Oct.7 2018. As part of the competition package 'Norman' will be featured at this year's Short Circuit Film Festival in May 2019! I have been working on a few feature screenplays while I work as a 2nd APC in our local film industry. Being in the production office has been an incredible learning experience and pays the bills while I write.
