Following this, Jovanna spent 6 years in New York pursuing dance and theatre, after which she returned to Vancouver and made her film debut in the 2003 award winning Canadian Independent Film: Part of the Game. In 2015 her film 'The Trap' (which she co-wrote/produced and starred in) started on the film festival circuit winning several awards along the way, and most notably another couple of 'Leo Award' nominations, including one for 'best actress' for Jovanna's performance. Jovanna lives in Vancouver, BC with her husband Andrew and spends a lot of time raising her two young children. She has found a way to balance motherhood and a career and continues to have success as an actress, with several movies set to premiere in late 2018.
