Krista Rand


Krista Rand is a producer, actor, & writer. She started her career as a singer/dancer on cruise ships which allowed her to travel to over 37 countries in 7 yrs. While in Toronto she performed in Mamma Mia & was a backup vocalist on Canadian Idol. Krista a member of UBCP/ACTRA and has appeared on YTV's Mr. Young & Some Assembly Required, as well as a handful of short films, commercials & plays. Her short film Lead & Follow won STORYHIVE short film edition as well as the music video edition for Alexz Johnson's 'Heart Like That'. Krista was a co-producer on Aubrey Arnason's short film Kindergarten, Da Bin Inch Wieder which won Crazy8's 2015. She also co-produced David Ray's feature film Grand Unified Theory which won the audience choice award for most popular Canadian film at The Whistler International Film Festival 2016. Together with Orsy Szabo they run Yellow Heart Pictures, making films about real people in vulnerable situations with a focus on female characters.
