Greta Makena Gibson is a writer and director local to Vancouver, BC. Her love of film sparked early, and she grew up in the film industry, where both her parents frequently worked. In high school, she began winning awards for her filmmaking and writing. She graduated from the Motion Picture Arts Program at Capilano University in 2018, then immediately launched herself into constant writing and film creation. Her short film “The Rio: A Love Story” was a notable achievement, as a contribution to the “Save the Rio” campaign, to protect a beloved local theatre from demolition. When Greta is not making films or working on a new piece, she can be found cooking, dancing around Vancouver, making music, or spending quality time with her cat, Matilda.
