Tammy Gillis is an award-winning actress and an indisputable talent powerhouse who has so far appeared in over 50 roles across a variety of acclaimed film and television projects. Next up, Tammy looks forward to continuing her recurring role on Freeform's "Siren", nominated in 2018 by the Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV Breakout Show. Her reprisal of the determined Deputy Marissa Staub can be caught on the season two premiere of "Siren" in 2019.
Growing up in rural Manitoba, Tammy showed an early interest in her craft and began acting in school plays. Not long after, she was discovered by a modelling scout while attending university and was cast in a series of commercials for Greenkids. She then found herself on the set of Canadian legend Guy Maddin, and appeared in his inspired short film, HEART OF THE WORLD.
Since then, Tammy's acting career has continued to grow. Her appearances include recurring roles on a variety of hit television series including CTV's "Motive", The CW's "Supernatural", Showcase's "Lost Girl", Bravo's "Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce", SYFY's "Continuum", ABC's "Once Upon A Time" and Spike TV's "Blue Mountain State" as well as many more. Tammy has also recurred on the critically acclaimed award-winning HBO comedy series "Less Than Kind", CBC's "jPod", the E! Network's "The Arrangement" and Leo Award winning SYFY series "Ghost Wars".
Tammy has also been a dynamic and exciting presence on the big screen, as she currently celebrated her multi-award winning performance in the indie feature film MENORCA. Tammy's portrayal of Claire, a hedonistic soccer mom that goes on a journey of self-discovery to win back her son has won her four "Best Actress" awards: The 2017 UBCP/ACTRA Award, the Black Sea Film Festival in Romania, the Noida International Film Festival-17 in India and the Solaris Film Festival-17 in Nice, France. In addition, Tammy earned a 2017 Leo Award nomination for "Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture" for her staggering performance. This nomination is her second, as she was previously nominated for a Leo Award in 2016 "Best Guest Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series" for her work on UPTV's "Ties That Bind". Tammy has shone in additional feature film roles, including titles such as NO MEN BEYOND THIS POINT, WHITE NOISE 2, VIOLENTIA and A DOG'S WAY HOME which premieres in theatres this January 2019.
Tammy also recently had her directorial debut for the web series "The Support Group", which she produced and acted in. The original comedy web series follows three unlikely friends, each facing their own challenges and coming together to save their beloved support group.
Tammy divides her time between Canada and Los Angeles and brings her industry expertise and passion to her numerous projects and causes. She also serves as a jury member for the Canadian Screen Awards and volunteers as a mentor in the Women in Film and Television actor-mentorship program.
