Monique Hurteau

Monique Hurteau is a writer, producer, director and lapsed stand up comedian. She holds a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Management Consulting, is an alumna of Women in the Director's Chair 2019 Career Advancement Module and 2019 Story + Leadership Program and was selected Top 25 (out of nearly 500) for the 2019 Netflix-Banff Diversity of Voices Pitch Program. Monique was 1 of 4 women from across Canada chosen by Eagle Vision to write + direct for The Truth Sharing Podcasts commissioned by the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. She also wrote produced + co-directed, the 2016 documentary Chasing Lear.

Additionally, she’s a multi-disciplinary artist whose work has been exhibited in the Canadian Museum of History and her paintings can be seen in the US, UK + across Canada. She's also performed stand-up comedy throughout Canada, appeared on CTV and as a writer for the iconic Canadian comedy series CBC's The Debaters and the opening events of the Canadian Museum of Human Rights. She currently has a feature-length thriller and a half hour dark comedy series in development.
