Dusty Kelly is the vice-president of IATSE Local 891 (International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees), and has served the Local in varying leadership roles since 1996. Before that, Dusty worked as a scenic artist on a wide range of Hollywood blockbuster and home grown movies. It was this experience that inspired her activism around the promotion of health and safety on sets. Dusty is an officer of the BC Federation of Labour and the chair of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee. She is also the worker representative director for Actsafe -- the health and safety association for BC's Motion Picture and Performing Arts and Live Entertainment sectors. In addition, Dusty is a member of the board of directors of Women in Film and Television Vancouver and plays an active role in their mentorship programs. Dusty is also a member of the Vancouver International Film Festival Forum advisory panel.
