Host: Deb Sears
Guest speaker: Jeb Beach, Vancouver Actor, Teacher & Mentor
Topic: The Seasons of the Actor
There are Three Seasons for the Vancouver Film and Television actor, and when we miss them, we operate in only two - "auditioning" or "depressed". Actors who pay attention to the actual predictable season of our industry empower themselves to invest their time, energy, attention, and finances in a productive fashion. They free themselves from the destructive auditioning-depressed cycle, and are able to build a long term viable career that grows, season over season, year over year.
Jeb Beach is a well known and respected Vancouver-based Actor, Teacher, and Mentor. He is widely considered to be a leader in removing the barriers between Industry and Art; the result of his profound capacity to connect people with each other and to themselves, plus his keen sense of industry timing, trends, and how to translate it all into actionable steps for the professional actor. Compassion for the self & for the other are at the heart of his teaching, acting, and life philosophy which he calls Structured Exploration.
Jeb has been an active member of Vancouver's acting community for close to a decade, and has worked in all areas and at all levels of industry both as an actor and as a coach. Presently, teaches independently in Vancouver and in Toronto, publishes a popular blog at http://www.jebbeach.com/blog and lives with his growing family on a wee island.
