Marena Dix is an award-winning film producer from Victoria, BC. After graduating with a diploma in Entertainment Business Management from Vancouver Film School she has produced multiple short films and web series in Vancouver and the lower mainland. She has also been involved with the Vancouver Short Film Festival !since 2013 in varying roles.
Rhona Rees is a storyteller with 25 years of experience in front of the camera and behind the mic. For the last ten years, she has followed a yearning to tell her own stories and has developed a unique and quirky feminist voice as a writer. In 2018 she co-created, associate produced and starred in the Crazy8s film Shuttlecock, which enjoyed an extremely successful festival run, winning multiple awards for best comedy and audience choice across North America. She was a top 10 finalist in the Ottawa International Animation Festival ‘Pitch This!’ competition and in the Raindance ‘3, 2,1, Action!’ screenwriting competition. Rhona is passionate about female-driven content and strives to produce art that is both amusing and thought-provoking for audiences of all ages. She is currently working with Vancouver studio Wildbrain; developing her original animated children's series with co-creator Megan Russell. Rhona is also co-founder of ‘Mistressclass’, an online learning platform for the film industry that strives to amplify female and other non-male voices.
Camille Hollett-French is a Trinidadian-Canadian actor and filmmaker. Her first film won the Craghoppers Film Prize of £20,000 at the Discover Film Awards (London). One of her films screened in the inaugural Episodes program at Slamdance where she is now a programmer, and she's a recent cohort of Women In the Director's Chair and the Whistler Film Festival's Producers Lab. Her recent film FREYA won Best Live Action Short at the Calgary International Film Festival. Her latest film ENDOMIC made with co-creator and research scientist Ipek Ensari is set to premiere at Slamdance 2021 for the first Unstoppable program. Camille has appeared on shows The Twilight Zone, Motherland and The Big Sky.
Karen has worked full-time in the film and television industry since 2000. Starting her career as a producer and entertainment lawyer, Karen has since written and directed eight short films, two music videos, series directed a true-crime documentary series for Investigation Discovery (US), a web series “Mythos” (2015) created for TELUS, and three feature films -- “Stained” (2010), “Evangeline” (2013) and “The Curse of Willow Song” (2020), which premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival in September 2020. The film won Best British Columbia Feature Film and Karen received the Best Director award at the British Columbia Leo Awards for her work. Karen has also written television scripts for SYFY and Netflix on the series Van Helsing and Ghost Wars.
