Q&A with Leah
Who are you and what do you do?
I balance my time between working in the mainstream film/tv industry (script supervisor or production coordinator) and in the indie film world where I help friends on their projects as their production manager or script supervisor - and anything else I can do to help them realize their creative goals!
Is there anything specific you would like to share about your life or work with us at the moment?
I especially love team building and have created White Raven Pictures as a place to nurture creative talent on Vancouver Island. My aim is to produce content driven by our ‘island grown’ writers, design teams, and talented performers.
Is there any quarantine activity that you would like to share in particular?
I’m spending my time - digitally, of course - collaborating with other writers and producers. Our focus is on writing things that envision our world after the pandemic which aren’t like The Hunger Games, Mad Max, or Handmaid’s Tale. What if we, as storytellers, can inspire people to create a much healthier, more peaceful, hopeful, and sustainable new ‘normal’?
Q&A with Claire
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Claire Mulligan. I am a novelist, screenwriter, editor, and creative writing teacher. I have a particular interest in adaptation and have taught courses on adaptation for Cinevic. My first short film The Still Life of Annika Myers is showing in festivals this year.
Is there anything specific you would like to share about your life or work with us at the moment?
I have several short scripts I am hoping to produce, and I am also working on creating an online class on writing historical fiction.
Is there any quarantine activity that you would like to share in particular?
Quarantine activity! I am watching masterclass - the David Mamet class is the best so far and working on a pilot script for a series I am pitching to the Creative BC Relief fund.
