May 20, 2020, 2:00 - 4:00 PM
Join us on May 20th with show-runner Tara Armstrong, the creator of the hit Canadian series “Mary Kills People”. The show, which aired on Global Television for three seasons (2016-2019) follows Mary, a renegade Doctor who provides assisted suicide as a side business. Things get complicated when the police pick up her trail.
Tara will chat with screenwriter Peggy Thompson about Tara getting a green light for a series with her first show. And they’ll dive into a craft talk about creating a series – leading the writer’s room -- and what does it take to create stories and arcs season after season.
And finally they’ll discuss life and writing during the health crisis. Peggy’s in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she’s a Board Member of Women and Film and Television Vancouver and Tara’s in Los Angeles, California where she’s living and working. And, what should we be writing now?
And Tara will take your questions.
