Lynn Booth has a long track record of producing independent documentary films and documentary series for global audiences. She is founder and CEO of independent production company Make Believe Media based in Vancouver with a satellite studio in Montreal. Lynn has produced nearly 100 hours of one offs and documentary series (Very Bad Men, Devil You Know, True Pulp Murder) to fruition from concept to global distribution over the past 20 years. She has received two Gemini Nominations for Culture Jam and For the Love of Elephants, a dozen Leo Nominations and various festival awards. Lynn is particularly proud helping launch the Indigenous music platform RPM.fm and of her second film on éléphant conservation How to Be a Wild Elephant with her third éléphant project underway An Elephant Love Story. Lynn was presented the Women In Film Vancouver ‘Woman of the Year’ Award in 2011 for her body of work and her ongoing commitment to advancing woman in creative roles above the line. www.makebelievemedia.com
Kim C. Roberts brings over two decades of experience as an entertainment lawyer to Sepia Films. While a partner at boutique law firm of Roberts & Stahl, Kim provided legal advice on a wide range of film and television projects and now oversees all of Sepia’s development contracts, co-productions, project financing and production legal.
But it wasn’t the opportunity to do more legal work that enticed Kim to join forces with Tina Pehme in developing projects under the Sepia Films banner. Independent production has meant the opportunity to work with artists who share our commitment to excellence and to having fun, to film with producers and crews in places like Argentina, Ireland, India and Norway and to build relationships with cultural agencies, broadcasters, financiers, sales agents, distributors and other passionate people who make up our industry.
Together with Tina, Kim has produced Sepia’s feature films including Anthem of a Reluctant Prophet (2018),The Games Maker (2014), In Their Skin (2012), A Shine Of Rainbows (2010), Partition (2007), Civic Duty (2007), Love On The Side (2004), feature documentaries including Keepers of the Magic, The Boy From Geita (2014), Hue: A Matter Of Colour (2013), And The Beat Goes On... (2009) and more than a dozen movies for television since 2012. Kim also executive produced the award-winning Canada/UK co-production It’s All Gone Pete Tong (2004).
Kim is also the company’s resident mixologist.
Anick Poirier co-founded WaZabi Films with Lorne Price, last August 2019. She was previously SVP for Seville International, Entertainment One’s boutique film sales outfit, representing a portfolio of award-winning independent films and documentaries from around the world, including Xavier Dolan’s, Matthias et Maxime, The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, Juste la fin du Monde (Cannes Film Festival Grand Prize) and Mommy (Cannes Jury Prize);Festival favorite Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey and Global Metal from Sam Dunn; and Award winning Waste Land from Vik Muniz. Before eOne acquired Les Films Seville, Poirier was VP International Sales since 2002. Anick also held senior sales roles at Cinar Corporation and Buena Vista Home Entertainment Canada, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.

As Sinking Ship Entertainment’s Head of Sales for Western Europe, Marilyn Kynaston oversees worldwide sales, series financing, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, consumer products and marketing alongside Co-Head of Sales Kate Sanagan. Since arriving at Sinking Ship in 2016 Marilyn has been a significant driver of the company’s growth, helping Sinking Ship become one of the world’s leading independent producers and distributors of children’s content.
Marilyn was previously co-owner of Picture Box Distribution, from 2001 to 2016, selling both kids and factual content to worldwide buyers. Prior to Picture Box, Marilyn held the position of Head of Sales for Forefront Entertainment where she sold kids, tween and family content. Marilyn is passionate about media and the positive role it can play in children’s lives.
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Florencia Gasparini Rey grew up watching hundreds of films and dreaming of one day working in the film industry. A graduate of the University of Buenos Aires, with a focus in Film Production and Film Studies, Florencia took her expertise into modest feature films, short films, and was awarded in the Official Competition at BAFICI (one of the most prestigious film festivals in South America). In 2012, she joined the FilmSharks team, taking on the role of Sales Executive and specializing in Latin American and Spanish films. She was fortunate to work with production companies like Patagonik Film Group, K&S Films, and Amiguetes, among others, selling top box office hit feature films. In 2014, Florencia was highlighted as a “Future Leader” by Screen Daily during the Cannes Film Festival. After serving as a Sales Consultant for Argentinian Distributor, Impacto Cine, she moved to Los Angeles to enroll in the Business and Management of Entertainment program at UCLA Extension. While completing her studies, she began working as an Acquisitions Intern with AMBI Distribution and later joined Blue Fox Entertainment as a Sales Consultant for Latin America and Spain. In April 2019, Florencia joined Cinema Management Group and their International Sales Team, where she is now succeeding in the role of Sales Executive.
Nancy Gerstman is co-President and co-founder of Zeitgeist Films, renowned for their ground-breaking documentaries and highly curated collection of foreign language films, which celebrated its 31st anniversary in 2019. She has worked in all aspects of film distribution and exhibition including a stint at Landmark Theatre Corporation, the largest independent theatre chain in the U.S. She has traveled throughout the world as a juror, panelist and commentator on issues related to independent and foreign language film, in 2019 through the Independent Filmmaker Project as one of three mentors sent to speak with filmmakers in Busan, South Korea. She and her business partner Emily Russo received the 2020 Lifetime Achievement from the Art House Convergence in Utah. She is Permanent Artist-in-Residence in the Master’s Program in Media and Communication Arts at City College of New York (CCNY) and in 2016 she became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She was born in Queens, New York.
Kate Cundall has worked in television for over 15 years across broadcast, production and distribution both in the UK and the US. Since joining eOne in 2018 as VP, Acquisitions, she has rapidly developed a strong slate of premium factual programming, including INSIDE CHINA and LOST WORLDS AND HIDDEN TREASURES.
Previously at DRG, Kate acquired over 700 hours of content from international producers across multiple genres. Kate has also worked at Eyeworks, Sky, Channel 5 and several production companies.
Loren Syer-Willoughby started her career as a sales executive at Indigo Film & Television, selling to multiple territories across factual, fiction and kid’s content to international broadcasters around the world. After three years, Loren moved to Off the Fence as an Acquisitions Executive and is based in their London office.
Four years later, Loren now manages the entire Off the Fence Acquisitions portfolio, sourcing and working with producers from all around the world at different stages, from early development, helping to secure pre-sales or co-productions, right through to completed productions.
