We are actively looking for feature-length material we feel could be of interest to Chinese audiences, directors, actors and investors. These would be films that resonate culturally with China, as broad as that may be interpreted. Scripts potentially for China do not need to be set there, necessarily. We are also treading carefully into India and are in active discussions with a handful of the hundreds of busy companies there. Again, a film for any audience in India must resonate culturally with them.
We are not limited to any genre. We will look at other material but it has to be astonishingly original and a great vehicle for a bankable actor. We are not developing or pursuing anything for half hour or one-hour television. We are not developing anything intended strictly for web release unless it was viable for a Chinese audience.
MASSEY PRODUCTIONS LTD. is a Canadian production company creating and collaborating on theatrical motion pictures and television/cable movies. MPL was incorporated in 1983 and has produced in a variety of media and formats for theatrical, television/cable/DVD and radio. Today, MPL is focused mainly on larger scale feature films with an emphasis on formal co-productions and including a slate with partners in China. Past films include the China-Canada co-production IRON ROAD. Massey Productions also provides full production services from Immigration and prep through to delivery as required. Massey Productions was incorporated in 1983 and is wholly-owned by Raymond Massey. Massey is credited as Executive Producer, Producer or Supervising Producer on some 35 feature films, documentaries and movies for television. The company keeps offices in Vancouver, Canada.
The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) creates social-issue documentaries, auteur animation, and digital content from a uniquely Canadian perspective. The NFB’s Digital Studio works with a wide range of artists and media-makers interested in experimenting with the creative application of digital technologies and interactivity as it relates to story, expression and community. In practice, this includes digital video shorts, interactive documentaries, virtual reality and 360 video, mobile and locative media, interactive animations, photographic art and essays, data visualizations, physical installations, community media, interactive video, user-generated media, etc.

Nicholas Klassen is an Interactive Producer with the NFB's Digital Studio. Drawing from over a decade of experience creating and producing online content for the social and cultural sector, he works with filmmakers, writers and artists to produce interactive storytelling projects that push the boundaries of story, form and platform.
Prior to his work at the NFB, he co-founded the creative and online strategy agency Biro Creative, where he advised leading movement-building organizations like Greenpeace, WWF, and Avaaz.org on a number of Webby-award winning and -nominated projects. He has also served as Senior Editor at Adbusters, overseeing editorial and online content for the acclaimed and globally-recognized magazine.

Terry Snelgrove is interested in documentary, and auteur animation pitches.
Teri Snelgrove is the Associate Producer at the BC & Yukon Studio of The National Film Board of Canada where she has worked on many documentaries including the acclaimed The Road Forward (Marie Clements), Debris (John Bolton), Bone Wind Fire (Jill Sharpe), Crazywater, (Denis Allen) Beauty (Christina Willings), and the interactive project, Bread (Mariette Sluyter). Teri is also working on a number of animated projects, including the recently released The Mountain of SGaana (Christopher Auchter) and Shop Class (Hart Snider) as well as The Zoo (Julia Kwan), which is currently in production. Teri Snelgrove is a Newfoundlander and a graduate of the film/video program at Emily Carr Institute (now University).

Patrice Ramsay is the Coordinator of Independent Production at Knowledge Network. She helps bring original Knowledge Network commisions to a BC audience. Recent examples include “Shut Up and Say Something: A Shane Koyczan Story”, “For Dear Life”, and “Vancouver: No Fixed Address”. She is also responsible for the budget of all independent production at Knowledge and manages Knowledge’s Broadcaster Performance Envelope from the Canada Media Fund. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration and recently earned The Osgood Certificate in Entertainment Law from Osgood Hall Law School of York University.
Omnifilm Entertainment is a leading independent Canadian content company. Since 1979, Omnifilm has produced and distributed hundreds of hours of award-winning programming including drama, comedy, factual and lifestyle series, documentaries, and children's programming.
Necessary requirements: We are looking for fictional scripted television series (no features), live-action (no animation), creators must have an agent.
Not necessary but preferred: Returnable series (limited can work but less preferred), drama as opposed to straight comedy, projects that are based on IP helps massively, projects that are set-up to appeal international is also a big plus – our company is focusing on intl co-pros.
Omnifilm is beginning production on ‘The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco’, a spin-off of the hit ITV period mystery series for Britbox, ITV and Netflix. The company also recently completed the second season of ‘Mech-X4’, a live-action sci-fi adventure series for Disney XD. Other current productions include: ‘Wild Bear Rescue’ for Animal Planet, and Season 3 of ‘Jade Fever’ for Discovery Canada. Omnifilm's recent scripted series include: 'Arctic Air’ (CBC) which starred Adam Beach and garnered the highest premiere for a CBC 1-hour drama in over a decade; ‘Primeval: New World’ (CTV/Space, SyFy Channel, ProSieben, and UKTV); ‘Defying Gravity’ (ABC, CTV-Space, ProSieben, and BBC); ‘Dragon Boys’ (CBC); and long-running dramedy ‘Robson Arms’ (CTV). One of Omnifilm's earliest dramas, the Emmy-nominated ‘Odyssey’, featured a young Ryan Reynolds in one of his first starring roles. In a feature film, Marina is looking for a well-written screenplay, meaning: strong real-life dialogue and solid story structure, character development and universal themes. A familiar story is welcome, as long as there is a unique angle. Although I am open to any genres, the ones that "sell" most around the world are: family audience, thriller, unusual yet universal indie stories that attract profile actors.
Prior to MCE, Marina Cordoni worked for various entertainment companies including the film division of PolyGram Filmed Entertainment, where she handled pre-sales and completed picture sales in various foreign territories on major independent hits including '4 Weddings and a Funeral', 'Dead Man Walking', 'Fargo' and 'Sleepers'.

Jason James is an award-winning producer/writer/director based in Vancouver and Los Angeles. He recently directed/produced the indie drama/comedy ENTANGLEMENT starring Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), Jess Weixler (Teeth), and Diana Bang (The Interview). The film will be released in North America on February 9th, 2018.
He also directed/produced the indie feature THAT BURNING FEELING (starring John Cho, Tyler Labine, and Paulo Costanzo). The film played numerous festivals, won Best Feature at VIFF, and was released in both the USA and Canada by eOne Films and Search Engine Films in 2014.
Other projects include producing: THE STEPS by director Andrew Currie (starring Jason Ritter, Emmanuelle Chriqui, James Brolin, and Christine Lahti), MOUNTAIN MEN by director Cam Labine (starring Chace Crawford and Tyler Labine), and the Carl Bessai directed features REPEATERS, COLE, FATHERS & SONS, and UNNATURAL & ACCIDENTAL. He also co-created and produced the CBC comedy series THIS SPACE FOR RENT.
Jason has previously been invited to attend the Film Independent Producer’s Lab, Telefilm/CFC/Just For Laughs Comedy Features Lab (three times), Toronto Film Festival Talent Lab, the Rotterdam Talent Lab, a CTV Fellowship at the Banff Television Festival, the National Screen Institute’s Totally Television Program, and The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television’s National Director Apprenticeship program.
