Amy will be discussing the role of the Director of Photography and the DOP-Director relationship.
Amy Belling is a multiple Leo Award winning Director of Photography with an MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles. Belling lensed the US romantic comedy You Can't Say No, starring Peter Fonda, Marguerite Moreau and Hamish Linklater, which shot in Sonoma, Northern California. Upcoming documentaries with the National Film Board of Canada include Beauty: Beyond Binary (Vancouver/Montreal) and Holy Angels (Alberta/BC). Songs She Wrote About People She Knows, was profiled in the American Cinematographer Magazine, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was nominated for three Canadian Screen Awards 2016. Belling's first short film, Why The Anderson Children Didn't Come To Dinner by Jamie Travis, premiered at TIFF 2003, SXSW, and Slamdance. Belling is a DOP/camera op in IATSE 669, has an O-1 working visa in the US, and holds passports for Canada and the EU (Finland). She is represented by Alex Franklin at Partos Company.
