Following the screenings of Freedom Babies and Highway of Tears, Kwasuun Sarah Vedan, Artistic Associate for Full Circle: First Nations Performance, will lead a discussion on issues raised in the two films.

Fay Blaney, Founder of the Aboriginal Women’s Action Network (AWAN). Currently she
works in Vancouver at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Center as Project Coordinator
for Warriors Organizing Women (W.O.W)
Lillian Howard, Interim Executive Director for the Aboriginal Community Policing Centre
(VACPC). She is a member of the Coalition for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous
Community, Sister Watch and the February 14 Memorial Women’s March.
Bernadette Spence, CEO of the Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services
Dr. Richard Vedan, Associate Professor Emeritus in the UBC School of Social Work.
Currently he serves as Vice-President of the Vancouver Aboriginal Community Policing
Centre (VACPC), as a member of the Indigenous Education Advisory Committee for the
JIBC, and as Elder for the Aboriginal Education Advisory Committee for the Faculty of
Education at SFU.
