Topic: Brand Integration, Product Placement & Branded Entertainment: A “New” Funding Model for Production Companies

Are you looking for new ways to finance your project?  Do you want to reduce your production budget?  Have you thought about product placement or brand integration but don’t know where to start or even worse, don’t want to “sell out” to an advertiser?  In this seminar, you will learn:

  • the definitions of product placement, brand integration & branded entertainment;
  • how product placement or brand integration can not only help finance productions, but reduce line items in your budget;
  • what advertisers are looking for when they evaluate an opportunity;
  • that careless integrations can damage the production and the brand, and that such integrations can be avoided;
  • the expertise required in order to facilitate a successful integration and negotiation.

Nicole Porter is President of SHIFT Brand Integration Group, an entertainment marketing agency that connects brands with entertainment via product placement, brand integration, sponsorship procurement and video. She is also Executive Producer and Co-Creator of Wine Sense TV and a Branded Entertainment instructor at Vancouver Film School.

A Marketing Management graduate passionate about advertising, Nicole has worked in Sales, Marketing, Production, Media and Operations with companies like Rogers Broadcasting, Astral (now Bell) Media, Aerotek Inc, and the television series “Wine Sense”.

This range of experience has resulted in an ability to quickly understand the big picture of an organization or production, ask the right questions, find the realproblems, then create the bestsolutions for all parties involved.

Nicole has won numerous awards for the creation of successful cross-platform marketing programs, and has enjoyed the success of Wine Sense as it became the first program of it’s kind to air in long and short form on platforms such as TV, airlines, online and iTunes, where, within 14 days of its launch,  landed on the New & Noteworthy Page alongside Entertainment Weekly and BNN.

At SHIFT, Nicole brings her clients a strategic and forward-thinking approach to marketing and business, unrivalled attention to detail, an ability to stretch a dollar beyond expectations, and the courage and foresight to create distinctive and often groundbreaking solutions that get results.  She is an innovative entrepreneur who will create opportunities where traditionally, they didn’t exist.

Nicole believes that everyone could benefit from a “SHIFT” in the way they think.
