WIFTV is proud to present the 4th Annual Women In Film Festival, March 4th-8th, 2009. All events are held at the Vancity Theatre (Seymour & Davie) except for the March 8th International Women's Day, WIFTI Short Film Showcase. which will be held at the Chan Centre for Family Health Education at CFRI (on the same campus as BC Women's Hospital), 4500 Oak St., Vancouver, B.C.

WIDC Feature Film Award to be presented during Opening Night Reception
The Women In the Director’s Chair (WIDC)
Feature Film Award will be awarded to recipient Katrin Bowen by WIDC President Carol
Whiteman.
From growing up in a Mennonite community in
Linden, Alberta, to writing and performing stand-up comedy, to writing and
directing independent films and television in Vancouver, award-winning director
Katrin Bowen (Almost Forgot My Bones, Sand
Castle) has led a
colourful life.
She recently directed six episodes
of The Last 10lbs Boot Camp for the Slice Network, and episode 3.3
of The Uber Guide for the Travel Network. She is currently in preproduction on the
sexy and hilarious Love Bites and in development on two features she
wrote, the semi autobiographical Off
Course and a film
about her father’s mysterious disappearance, Ellis and
Louise. Katrin is an alumna of the U of C,
Berkeley, the Cannes Producing Intensive, Women in the Director’s Chair and the
Berlinale Talent Campus.
