2017 Vancouver International Women in Film Festival Screenplay Competition
The VIWIFF 2017 Screenplay Competition is committed to highlighting the best stories the world has to offer that are written by women. The festival is a forum for collaboration and networking with other screenwriters and filmmakers who contribute to the visibility of women through the ongoing practice of their craft.
This year we received screenplays from across Canada and the U.S., plus Great Britain, France, Italy, Turkey, and the Ukraine.
Ten Official Selections were selected to receive a festival pass and invited to attend VIWIFF 2017!
The top three Official Selections received an InkTip Listing: a listing of your script on InkTip so that producers and reps can find you, as well as a digital download of Final Draft screenwriting software.
The finalist was presented with a cash prize at the Festival Awards Ceremony on March 12, 2017.
Congratulations to Lily Mercer (My Old Man) – this year's winner of the Ken Hayward Award for Best Screenplay from the VIWIFF International Screenplay Competition!
