Vancouver International Women in Film Festival 2016 Festival LogoScreenplay Competition Announces Winners

VIWIFF 2016 is committed to highlighting the best stories the world has to offer that are written by women. The festival is a forum for collaboration and networking with other screenwriters and filmmakers who contribute to the visibility of women through the ongoing practice of their craft.

Feature film scripts of any genre are encouraged, smashing the perceptions of what stories women write, and what we want to see.

For its second year, the International Screenplay Competition was open to the world, and screenwriters from around the world responded. Submissions were received from the Unites States of America, Great Britain, Australia and China (Hong Kong).

This year’s jury brought to the process a wealth of experience, and education. This event could not take place without the expert contributions of judges Angela Crosato, Sasha Duncan, Rebecca Hales, Bill Hurst, Dee Leblanc, Nisha Shankar, and Kelly Tatham. Our thanks to all!
