Press Release: From Our Dark Side incubator program matches winners with top sto

From the press release:

Women In Film and Television Vancouver (WIFTV) is very excited to announce that the five winners of the From Our Dark Side incubator program have been matched with story editor consultants as they develop their genre concepts from treatments to full length feature film scripts.

Five winners were selected in February and have since attended the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival where they participated in workshops and industry sessions. They are now working on their scripts and headed for the Frontičres Genre Co-Production Conference in Montreal, an international co-production market and networking platform specifically focused on genre film financing and co-production between Europe and North America. In preparation for their attendance at Frontičres in July, story editor consultants will provide feedback to the writers on their treatments and advise them on moving forward to a first draft.

“Writers who enter the From Our Dark Side Competition tell us that in addition to getting the chance to go to Frontičres to pitch their project, the reason they enter is to work with our fabulous consultants!” commented Peggy Thompson, From Our Dark Project Consultant.

This year’s winners are matched with the following story editor consultants:

Bridget Canning, Newfoundland; Water from Stones – Carrie Gadsby

Elle Wild, BC; Strange Things Done – Sara Snow

Mariel Scammell, Quebec; The Lot – Nikki Saltz

Melanie Jones, BC; Switchback – Nikki Saltz

Samantha Loney, Ontario; Married to Murder – Lesley Krueger
