Women In Film & Television Vancouver (WIFTV) is an internationally affiliated non-profit society committed to advancing & celebrating women in the screen-based media industry.

WIFTV is one of the 35 world-wide chapters of Women in Film & Television International (WIFTI): www.wifti.org. Being a member gives you the opportunity to meet and network with hundreds of people locally, to benefit from many industry events and programs, and to access WIFTI events and information worldwide.
Membership is open to all women working in the screen-based media industry, women not actively working in the industry, and men. We encourage representation from all the creative, technical, administrative, and service fields that sustain our lively production community.
WIFTV supports a wide range of opportunities for education, networking and advocacy by:
- Providing professional development workshops
- Facilitating collaboration and ongoing networking
- Advocating discussion of issues of concern to women, to assure fair and equitable opportunities in the industry
- Celebrating and promoting awareness of women's achievements
- Joining other industry organizations in programs and initiatives which support these goals.
Member benefits at all levels include: free admission to the monthly Networking Breakfasts; access to the members-only section of the website (contains a member directory, job board, discussion forum, and exclusive offers to members); one free ticket to the annual VIFF Martini Madness event; reduced rates on WIFTV resources and programs; discounts on partner organization events and products; and the ability to connect worldwide with people in the industry.
WIFTV activities are carried out primarily by volunteers and require ongoing participation and support from our membership. Participation in working committees is a wonderful way to meet and get to know other dynamic women. By working on WIFTV projects, you make use of your ideas and creative energies to assist women in the screen-based media industry.

"I responded to a WIFTV newsletter call for directors, for a woman to direct a feature film that had a plot that was woven around the issue of breast cancer. I had just wrapped a 2-hour feature documentary on breast cancer and had been trying to cross over into directing drama for decades. I applied for the position, the producer flew to Toronto where I was temporarily working, met with me and hired me. I am now working with him on several drama projects and have a brilliant professional relationship with his company. All of this was made manifest through my continued membership with WIFTV.
