Each year since 2006, the Vancouver international Women in Film Festival (VIWIFF) has showcased an impressive line-up of short and feature films (narrative, documentary, experimental and animation) by established and emerging women filmmakers from around the world.

All films screened at our festival have women in at least three of the key creative roles: Writer, Producer, Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Composer, Lead Performer.

This year’s festival includes a diverse line up of films all followed by a moderated question and answer session, a Genre Workshop, Pitch Sessions, the Spotlight Awards Gala, an industry panel, a Filmmaker Party and a Closing Night Awards Ceremony.

Award recipients for the Closing Night Festival Awards were selected by an independent jury composed of members:

The festival is an opportunity for women to share their stories, for the community — men and women— to come together to network, develop relationships, celebrate each others’ accomplishments and to see films you won’t get to experience on the big screen anywhere else. Enjoy!
