BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2009-2010Women in Film & Television Vancouver is pleased to announce the new board of directors who were elected at the Annual General Meeting on May 11, 2009:

Treasurer - Tracey Mack - producer, writer, consultant
Secretary - Linda Crain - producer, consultant, production manager
Director - Mary Bissell - writer, director
Director - Clare Hodge - producer
Director - Eileen Hoeter - director, producer - WIFTI Chair
Director - Kay Leung - marketing manager
Director - Roslyn Muir - writer, producer
Director - Peggy Thompson - producer, executive producer, writer
“I’m honoured to be stepping into the position of President of this great organization and am committed to upholding the standards and integrity of WIFTV’s past presidents who have graced this position over the past 20 years,” says Robyn Wiener, who has served on the board for two years. "It’s been a pleasure to have worked with such a dedicated committee whose focus on advocacy revitalized the organization and has paved the way for our new Executive. Our organization has such incredibly talented, committed and driven women and we are looking forward to working with and for our members this upcoming year.” Joining the board for a two-year term are: Mary Bissell, an award-winning filmmaker who brings style and wit to her directing, writing, and on-screen hosting; her numerous credits include, Naked, the most watched documentary on CBC Newsworld’s The Lens and My Big Fat Diet, which screened at the American Indian Film Festival and won the Silver Chris Award from the Columbus International Film Festival. Linda Crain, a professional corporate and commercial video and communications producer and production manager supporting positive education, opportunities and progress for women. Kay Leung specializes in social marketing and communications in the public and non profit sectors, and was recently the Marketing Manager for the Pacific and Yukon Centre of the NFB. Tracey Mack is Development Executive/Director of Business Affairs and Marketing at Bardel Entertainment. Tracey has also been a writer/producer for Teletoon and has her own company, Urban Safari Entertainment. Robyn Wiener A seasoned professional with over 13 years of professional experience in the film industry, Robyn is an independent producer in Vancouver having produced several short films, and an award winning music video, and she has also previously made her mark in the industry as a production coordinator. The new board members will join the existing board members who have one year left in their term: Kate Green, Clare Hodge, Eileen Hoeter, Roslyn Muir and Peggy Thompson. “I’m very excited about the caliber of women that we continue to have join the board. They will complement the existing board and help build on our plans for the future,” states past president, Peggy Thompson. Each board member will chair a committee such as advocacy, membership, marketing, workshops or events. These important committees are open to member participation.
