ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Not only is WIFTV's Annual General Meeting informative, it gives members the opportunity to have their voices heard, and to understand how WIFTV plans to support and promote its membership in the future.

7:00 pm sharp (registration begins at 6:30 pm)
2nd Floor Multimedia Room, The Roundhouse, Vancouver BC
Underground pay parking is available (access off Drake) $3 max after 6pm

All members of Women in Film & Television Vancouver are invited to attend the AGM; however, voting is limited to Lifetime, Executive and Professional members in good standing. Non-members are also welcome, although they may not participate in the business of the meeting.
If you are unable to attend the AGM, we encourage you to please vote by proxy. Fill out the 2011 Proxy Form and give it to your designate. Contact the WIFTV Office if you have any questions!

WHO CAN APPLY All Lifetime, Executive and Professional members are invited to become and to nominate qualified candidates for WIFTV's Board of Directors. Candidates need to have been a member in good standing for at least one year or be an Executive level member. At the time of nomination, all qualifying candidates must have their dues current with our office. Board members are elected for a 2-year term.
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS The board’s executive is comprised of the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. 35% of the board must be comprised of Executive-level members (women with more than 10 years of professional industry experience). The board is looking for expertise in the following areas: sponsorship and fundraising, financial or business management, professional workshop planning, marketing / communications, community outreach, advocacy, non-profit or charity board experience. The board has four key committees: advocacy, celebration & festival, education and operations.
MEETINGS / TIME COMMITMENT The board meets on the third Monday of every month, and all board members sit on working committees that meet regularly. Board meetings run from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Depending on the committee you are involved with, there may be additional meetings. The board and the respective chairs of committees are required to submit reports prior to the board meeting that work to comprise the agenda for each board meeting. Board members are required to read all accompanying reports to the agenda, prior to their attendance at the meeting. Light snacks are provided at each board meeting and each board member takes a turn providing the snack, but is reimbursed for their contributions.
OUR VOICE OF WIFTV The board is the voice of the organization. It is our job to ensure that the mandate of WIFTV is being carried out, implement changes as they arise, and be there to support our members at large.
